Play it Forward for our Special Needs Neighbors

JOIN US JULY 25 FOR THE ANNUAL LIFELONG EMPOWERMENT OPEN!

Strap on your clubs. Take a swing. Make a difference. Join the Geneva National Foundation (GNF) at the Monday, July 25 Lifelong Empowerment Open (L.E.O.), a golf tournament and auction to benefit Walworth County’s special needs community. This year, the open will take place on the Geneva National Golf Club’s Gary Player and Arnold Palmer courses and is sponsored by Kunes Country Auto Group.

“Since 2005, we’ve been donating our courses to this cause,” says Pamela Chambers, Geneva National owner and president of the Geneva National Foundation Board. “During this time, we’ve given out nearly $2.5 million in grant money to Lakeland School, VIP Services, Inspiration Ministries, the Autism Support Fund, Bayside Athletics, Studio 84, the Geneva Lakes YMCA and the Special Olympics of Walworth County.”

In addition, as of 2015, the Foundation began accepting grant requests from individual families as well, honoring specific requests for speech and physical therapy, wheelchairs, communicative devices, a guide dog, side-by-side tricycle, accessible swing and more.

A L.E.O. foursome is $1,200 and includes golf, lunch, dinner and a variety of on-course entertainment. For $2,500, receive a Tee it Up sponsorship that includes the aforementioned plus tee signs on both courses, complimentary on-course and cocktail hour beverages, and an extra foursome of golf at GN to be used at a later date.

“We’ve revamped the format a bit to make this favorited event even more popular,” notes Chambers. “From on-course activities and legendary golf to a festive cocktail hour and dinner at the Clubhouse, the L.E.O. will not disappoint!”

You don’t have to be a great golfer to play – just one with heart! Monetary and auction donations are welcome, as is spreading the word throughout the county about the L.E.O. – and more importantly – about the availability of grants for those with special needs.
