The Big Chill

Three meals a day, 365 days a year for 70 residents adds up – and takes its toll on Inspiration Ministries’ kitchen equipment.

“We’ve been here for over 60 years and much of our aging equipment needs upgrading,” notes Jill Snyder, Director of Social Services at the Walworth-based residence for adults with cognitive and physical disabilities. “As an independent nonprofit, we do rely on donations to make necessary facility improvements.”

On behalf of Inspiration Ministries, Snyder applied to the Geneva National Foundation for a much-needed $4,800 commercial twin reach-in freezer, which the Foundation was pleased to grant in January.

“We provide a very clean environment as well as full-time activities, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, housing and meals -- as well as a very home-like atmosphere,” states Snyder. “Some of our residents have been here for over 50 years, allowing them to age in place with a staff that is very caring and loving and with fellow residents who are like family.”

Inspiration Ministries is located on Highway 67 between Williams Bay and Fontana and features a resident-operated resale shop that is open to the public Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm. Please keep the Inspired Again store in mind when you are clearing out your house! For pickups of large items, please call 1-262-275-2264.
